Last night, the Cruise Challenge team headed to Birmingham to discover who would sail on triumphantly and who would be scuttled on the tricky trivia rocks …
Arriving at the Indigo Hotel in the centre of Birmingham (we should really have travelled by canal) our first thought was – that building really looks like a giant game of Tetris. Once inside we were treated to some true second city hospitality by the hotel’s events team and the set up was swift and well supported.
The players started to arrive around 6:30pm and after a few introductory drinks, the games began. The first rolls of the big red dice all delivered spot prizes and, with all teams having had a taste of success, things really heated up.
An ‘enthusiastic’ rendition of Wannabe broke the tension but once ‘cruise spice’ had taken a bow, the competition was well and truly back on.
As has been the trend this season, the Cruise Challenge delivered another hard-fought battle and come the final whistle only 4 points separated the teams.
The Green team took the win on the night, meaning the Birmingham Challenge slots neatly into the bronze medal position in the overall league table.
We had a fantastic time in the Midlands and would like to thank everyone who attended. We’d also like to give a quick shout out to our sponsors for the evening.
Julia Thornhill from Fred. Olsen, Lisa Clarkson from Oceania, Simos Bakas from Variety Cruises, Kelly-Marie Gregg from Regent & Moira Gregson from CMV. Thank you for your continued support and the great prizes!
The next Cruise Challenge will be coming to you live from Essex. We hit the Holiday Inn Festival Park in Basildon on 9 April.
